The communications ofshared experience establish common understanding oflife-situations within a group (Markova, 2003). These semanticand symbolic structures - we can relate them to Moscovicissocial representations (Moscovici, 1984) - provide individualswith general and dynamic, history based and experience basedframe for their opinions and believes. The adolescents are notpassive when they are developing the representations of eventsthat happened many years ago. The historical events and termsare seen and discussed from the present point of view withrespect to actual experience. Our research has aimed to findand explain how adolescents understand questionable part ofCzech history. Seven groups of Czech adolescents (aged from 16to 25) were presented with dilemma - real life-story of a manwho varied between position of victim to communist regime andposition of evildoer in fifties. This dilemmatic situation hasaddressed both concept of responsibility and concept ofjustice. We used the thematic analysis (Tyrlik, Macek, 2002) inorder to find social representations, which originate opinionsand actions of adolescents. We found three multidimensionalthematic structures. All of them include evaluative dimensionbut differ in antecedent dimensions and just consequences. Inthe case of the first theme, preceding internal (personal) eviland awareness of tragic results of own behaviour result innecessity of punishment. The second theme consists of relationbetween personal admission of the guilt and thepunishment/pardon. The third theme shows the pardon moreacceptable in the case the offence was frequent at the age offifties." @default.
