- W2604540657 abstract "Abstract The present study reports a quick method of preparing β-cyclodextrin grafted chitosan using microwave reactor for the facile adsorption of palladium (II). Batch studies and other adsorption parameters were studied in detail. The performance of Pd(II) adsorption was depicted by different isotherm models with maximum Langmuir adsorption capacity of 202.02 mg g−1. Kinetics following the second order pseudo model gave a proper fit and thermodynamics testified the process of adsorption to be spontaneous as well as exothermic. Desorption using thiourea solution indicated that the adsorbent has the potential to be used for three cycles. The characterization of the Pd(II)-loaded sorbent was carried out using IR, XPS and SEM/EDX. The validation of the method was checked in the presence of complex matrices and simulated high level liquid waste. The adsorbent also showed good ability to recover palladium from an industrial catalyst." @default.
