Based on the study of the master manipulator’s role in the teleoperation, this paper describes a distributed master manipulator control system based on CAN bus, and the design rationale of the joint controller is elaborated. In this control system, a lot of servo control and sensor information processing are handled in each joint controller located physically close to the motor that it is controlling.
