- W2625325159 abstract "Although a body of literature investigates the trickle-down effect of leadership behavior within an organization, the underlying mechanism and boundary condition for the effect remain unclear. Relying on social learning theory and the trickle-down effect perspective, we developed and tested a process model to explain how and when ethical leadership cascades. We hypothesized that ethical leadership behavior flows downward along the organizational hierarchy from higher-level manager to immediate supervisor. More importantly, we expected that supervisor’s moral efficacy and their perceived manager’s organizational embodiment (MOE) act as the mediating and moderating role respectively in the trickle-down process. Using a sample of 42 effective bank outlet data (42 supervisors and 246 followers), we provided support for the prediction. The theoretical and practical implications are discussed." @default.
