- W263461120 abstract "This chapter describes the Coulomb problem and the separation of electromagnetic effects in few-nucleon systems. It discusses the electromagnetic properties of nucleons and of the two-nucleon interaction. The two-nucleon Hamiltonian should, therefore, retain terms of low order only in the ratio of nucleon velocity. In this region, both proton form factors and the magnetic neutron form factor are known with satisfying accuracy, whereas the neutron charge form factor is only poorly determined, allowing a wide range of parametrizations. Its experimental indeterminacy has sizable effects on the three-nucleon charge form factors. It is the Hermitian reduction of the Breit interaction up to the order by means of a Foldy–Wouthuysen transformation. It can alternatively be derived from the relativistic one-photon exchange by eliminating the small spinor components. When the one-photon exchange is used in the Blankenbecler–Sugar equation, the momentum dependent corrections of the static Coulomb are modified." @default.
