In the present study we focus on the Ti-6A1-4V transformation kinetics during very fast heating taking into account the influence of the initial microstructure. The structure evolutions were characterized using the synchrotron radiation facilities (HE-XRD). The phase amounts and the mean lattice parameter variations were obtained during continuous heating up to the β phase domain with heating rates ranging from 0.03 to 200°C/s. Results evidence a noticeable shift of the transformation kinetics toward higher temperatures as the heating rate increases whatever the a grains size. In addition the mean lattice parameters of each phase are obtained." @default.
