- W2695097977 abstract "A plasma-catalytic hybrid system was applied for hydrogen production from ethanol. Three non-precious catalysts (Ni/γ–Al2O3, Co/γ–Al2O3 and Cu/γ–Al2O3) were employed independently in the non-thermal arc plasma reactor to enhance the reforming performance. Due to the presence of a catalytic bed, the ethanol conversion rate and hydrogen selectivity were obviously improved while the reaction temperature was quite low (120 ~ 210 °C). The experimental results indicated that, when Ni/γ–Al2O3 was added, the SER (specific energy requirement) for hydrogen production was lowered to 6.7 kJ/mol with an ethanol conversion rate of 84.2%, and the hydrogen selectivity was up to 46.3%. Hence, the non-thermal arc-catalytic hybrid system seems to be a promising method to achieve a better performance (Du CM et al. in Int J Hydrogen Energy 40:15381–15864, 2015 [1])." @default.
