The majority of the patients have high risk of complications, therefore the complexity of the pharmacotherapy given likely triggered the Drug Related Problems (DRPs). DRPs is an event or circumstance involving drug therapy that actually or potentially interferes with desired health outcomes. The study aimed to understand the number of incidence and its categorization on the Inpatient of RSUD A.W. Sjahranie Samarinda in 2015.This study was a non-experimental descriptive analytic. The inpatient data were taken retrospectively using cross sectional approach and simple random sampling method. The sample in this study consisted of 36 patients with type 2 diabetes. The DRPs were then analyzed using the standards from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) 2016, Society of Endocrinology Indonesia 2011, Standards of Medical Services RSUD A.W. Sjahranie Samarinda, Drug Interaction Facts 2013 and other related journals.The results showed that there were 13 patients of 36 patients (36,1%) of potential DRPs occurred in the management of patients with type 2 diabetes of the Inpatient of RSUD A.W. Sjahranie Samarinda period 2015. Among the 13, there were 28 events and they were divided into several categories, ie 9 events of drug needed (32%), 1 event of drugs without indication (3%), 1 event of wrong drug (4%), 1 event of inadequate dose (4%), 0 event of high dose (0%), and 16 events of drug interactions (57%)." @default.
