Esclerose sistemica. ABSTRACT: Scleroderma or systemic sclerosis is an autoimmune disease rare and of unknown etiology, characterized by an increase in the synthesis and deposition of collagen fibers, resulting in fibrosis, cutaneous thickening and the involvement of internal organs such as the gastrointestinal system, kidney, lung, heart and reproductive systems. Elucidate the differences between the clinical findings of the limited systemic scleroderma and diffuse; Highlight the main consequences of limited systemic scleroderma and diffuse the life of the patient with this condition; To underscore the importance of the nursing team 's performance in the admission and treatment of patients with limited and diffuse systemic scleroderma. This is a review article that has as theoretical base 94 bibliographical references, selected scientific bases in the Portuguese language, English and Spanish. Limited scleroderma and diffuse differ by its progression rate, as one presents slow progression and late visceral involvement, the other is accelerated and early visceral involvement. The consequences of the disease interfere with the patient's quality of life and it is up to the nurse planning of nursing care in order to improve their health and prevent possible complications.
