- W2727994680 abstract "The paper outlines the experiences gained from anextensive programme of GPS works performed inPoland by the Institute of Geodesy and GeodeticAstronomy of the Warsaw University ofTechnology. About 60 GPS projects wereperformed in the last three years using Trimblegeodetic receivers. These projects concernedestablishment or densification of geodetic controlnetworks, establishment of geodetic frames foraerotriangulation, and establishment of preciseelongated traverses for highway projects by quickkinematic GPS technologies. The paper alsodescribes a dynamical network (GPS+aero-triangulation+gravimetry) that is established on theindustrial area of intensive coal mine exploitation.Special original quick procedures of networkestablishment have been applied for this areawhere displacements of the surface pointssuffering from intensive mining are as large asabout 20 centimetres per month. The paper also discusses GPS surveys and theiruse in a large geodynamical project consisting ofestablishing Satellite-Geodynamic Traverses(SAGET) in Central and Southern Poland. SAGETtraverses link points located on three greatgeotectonic units of various ages that meet on theterritory of Poland. GPS measurements were usedfor determination of geoidal heights. Comparisonswith other classical (gravimetric and astrogeodetic)methods indicate very good agreement. Also, comparisons of GPS results with classicaltriangulation have been made. Some originalpractical works on GPS levelling have also beencarried out. The EXTENDED SAGET Project isbriefly described. Twenty-three stations from 13European countries participated in the GPSEXTENDED SAGET’92 campaign, creating anexcellent geodynamical networks for studies onthe Teisseyre-Tomquist contact zone in CentralEurope.Experiences with and performance of the Trimble4000 series receivers are discussed. The paperremarks on the achievable accuracy of GPSsurveys carried out by single- and dual-frequencyreceivers." @default.
