- W2738677952 abstract "This work introduces a new approach to solve the redundancy allocation problem (RAP) by including the optimization of carbon footprint for multi-state systems (MSS). Each component of such systems is supposed to have a carbon emission factor to assess its impact on the environment. Therefore, it is convenient to integrate renewable energy into production subsystems by considering the emission factor in the design of a given system. This paper presents the design of a hybrid wind turbine / Gas system, while taking into consideration the optimization of the carbon footprint. This optimization is carried out taking in consideration the evaluation of the availability, which is set by the introduction of the universal generating function (UGF), and by optimizing the cost. To do so, we introduce an Improved Genetic Algorithm (IGA). The experimentation results and discussion showed the effectiveness of our algorithm." @default.
