- W2739846215 abstract "For slinulating radiation damage of fusion reac tors with high energetic neutrons the knowledge of neutron cross-sections has to be linproved especially above 20 MeV. In this energy region the energy trans fer is daninated by nuclear cascade reactions. Around the fusion peak at 15 MeV about thirty percent of the damage energy in iron is transferred by cascade reac tions with a large (n,2n)-contribution. Above 20 MeV the damage energy by cascade reactions dominates. For iron and the main additional elements of stainless steel like chromium and nickel the energy transfer has been determined for each type of cascade reaction separately. Using the evaporation model the energy spectra of the heavy recoil atoms as well as that of the smaller emitted particles were calculated with a Monte Carlo procedure. The cascade code SPALLS has been linplemented in our modular system RSYST and tested with neutron emis sion spectra available up to 20 MeV. Essential impro vements have been made to determine the energy trans fer by cascade reactions." @default.
