- W2740371364 abstract "Abstract . The analysis of forging of martensitic, corrosion resistant X20Cr13 steel products was presented in this work. The influence of forging process parameters on microstructure and hardness of semi-finished products in the process of manufacturing surgical tools was disscussed. The aim of this research was to determine the possibility of warm forging of surgical tools (forging above the ferrite recrystalli-zation temperature): in the ferrite region, slightly above ferrite-austenite transformation temperature and in ferrite-austenite region. The critical temperatures for the investigated steel during heating (Ac 1s = 820 °C – austenite formation start temperature, and Ac 3 = 870 °C – the end of ferrite transformation) were determined in dilatometric tests. Moreover, the analysis of forging of surgical tool was also performed. Forging process parameters determining the properties of final product, such as equivalent strain and equivalent stress distributions, were analyzed basing on the numerical simulations. The results of this research as well as industrial tests enabled determination of warm forging parameters for obtaining forging defects free, good-quality products of uniform microstructure and hardness enabling easy removing the fln. In spite of this, designed forging technology eliminates costly intermediate soft annealing of final products. The performed research showed that the temperature range of 780÷810 °C is the most suitable for forging the investigated X20Cr13 steel." @default.
