- W2741140424 abstract "The numerical investigation is presented for flow and heat transfer on grinding work-piece with mist/air impinging jet by using DPM (discrete phase model) model. The tracks of the mist droplets show most of them are accumulated on the right surface of grinding zone, and can be influenced by the rotating speed of the grinding wheel, the position and the number of the jet nozzle. The mechanism model of enhance cooling by mist/air impinging jet is developed, which indicated the mist droplet is an key factor of affecting the heat transfer coefficient, and the increasing of mist droplet leads to significant enhancement of the cooling effect. The effects of the jet nozzle location, the nozzle diameter, and the nozzle number on flow and heat transfer coefficient are studied. The results show that the less nozzle distance and inclination angle, the greater nozzle diameter and number lead to greater heat transfer coefficient." @default.
