- W2742329591 abstract "A feasibility study of CNG direct-injection (CNG DI) stratified combustion was carried out using a rapid compression machine. Results of three types of injection modes were compared with those of homogeneous mixture combustion. It was shown that CNG DI has less heat loss and shorter combustion duration than those of homogeneous mixture combustion, and lean combustion limit could be extended to an extremely low value of equivalence ratio. It was also found that NOx peak value shifted to the region of lower equivalence ratio compared with that of homogeneous mixture. Thus CNG DI is considered to have much potential to be used in a spark-ignition engine from the point of view of wide operation range applicability and possibly higher energy conversion efficiency." @default.
