In order to address its problems of high fluid transport resistance in the pipeline, blockage in nozzle and slow responses speed, the rod-climbing effect is introduced to direct writing using a micro-channel and a rotation shaft within the channel as nozzle to pump the fluid. The solution flow rate of this nozzle was studied without applied voltage and the line width could be controlled by changing rotation speed. The response time of liquid supply can reach 0.3 s with rotation speed changed from 500 r/min to 9000 r/min, which is much smaller than that of the traditional syringe pump. Furthermore, when applied with a high voltage, nanoscale wires were obtained. Thus, such direct writing with Weissenberg effect might be of a great potential for rapid manufacturing flexible electronic in the future." @default.
