- W2751699095 abstract "In this work, the Al2O3-MO-BaO-P2O5-Sm2O3 (MO = Na2O and ZnO) were prepared by melt-quench technique. Both glasses were doped with Sm2O3 in different concentrations (0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.50, 1.00 and 2.00 mol%). The density of Al2O3-Na2O-BaO-P2O5-Sm2O3 (NaABP) and Al2O3-ZnO-BaO-P2O5-Sm2O3 (ZnABP) glasses tended to increase with increasing of Sm2O3 contents. The molar volume of NaABP glass not depends on the concentration of Sm2O3. While, the molar volume of ZnABP glass tended to increase with increasing concentration of Sm2O3. For both glass samples an increase in the absorption peaks were observed with the increase in Sm3+concentration. The luminescence emission spectrum of 0.5 mol% Sm2O3 doped glasses shows intense orange emission around 597 nm ascribed to 4G5/2→6H7/2 transition with 402 nm excitation wavelength. Also, the luminescence decay curves of both NaABP and ZnABP glasses have been investigated." @default.
