• W2752489845 abstract "Objective Increasing organ donations in Turkey have been observed in Bursa Organ and Tissue Transplant Region Coordination Center (Bursa, Balikesir, Çanakkale, Bilecik, Yalova and Düzce) in recent years. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the organ donation rate and marginal donor use of brain death declaration made in Bursa Organ and Tissue Coordination Center for the last eight years. Method Brain death declaration made in Bursa Organ and Tissue Transplantation Coordination Center in 2009‐2017 was obtained from donor information forms of family donors and organ donors. Demographic data and etiology of donors were determined. As; serum creatinine> 2 mg/dL, HbsAg - Anti-HCV - HIV positive patients, 60 and over, BMI (Body Mass Index)> 40, Intensive Care Unit> 5 days, Sodium> 150 mmol, presence of active infection, The use of marginal donors was defined. Findings During the study period, brain deaths were reported in 1083 cases in Bursa Organ and Tissue Transplant Coordination Center. 36.84% (399 cases) of these donated organ. Uludag University Health Practice and Research Center 156 transplant donors using livers were evaluated in Organ Transplant Center. There were no cases of BMI> 40 or more. 35.8% of cases (56 cases) were> 60 years of age. There was no HBsAg (+) anti-HCV (+) and HIV (+) donor. Intensive care was 24,35% (38 cases) with a duration of hospitalization > 5 days. Active infection infection was detected in 7,69% (12 cases). There was 26,90% (42 cases) of serum creatinine 2mg/dL or more. Conclusion The organ donation rate in the brain death report in Turkey is below the national average. However, the marginal donor utilization rate is satisfactory. This may be due to broad marginal criteria. 35.8% of the cases (56 cases) were> 60 years old, which can be explained by the increase in life expectancy in Turkey and the development of health services." @default.
