- W2755122205 abstract "The article is an attempt to actualize the work of pedagogues in the institutionalized system of preschool and school education. The aim of our research was to establish preferences of the students of education regarding their professional engagement and research work after graduation. We examined the students' reasons for selecting to study education and collected the data on how well they had been informed about their future work as pedagogues before they enrolled. Their interest in professional engagement after graduation, in the field of preschool pedagogy, school pedagogy, scientific pedagogic work and social care was also examined. The results of the research confirmed our hypothesis that students of education primarily wish to get adequate training for high quality counseling work in order to be able to act efficiently in an educational institution and help children, young people and adults who need their help. The results show that a smaller number of students would opt for scientific research field which, by no means, indicates their disinterestedness for analytical research activities, but only shows their preference for educational practice in preschools and schools." @default.
