- W2755741227 abstract "Abstract Mesoporous chemically activated olive pomace boiler ash (A-OPBA) was prepared. The adsorptive potential of A-OPBA for acid blue (AB 29) and methylene blue (MB) in aqueous solution was investigated. The adsorbent A-OPBA was obtained under the activation temperature of 800 °C and weight ratio of K2CO3/unburned carbon of 2. Different characterization techniques revealed that A-OPBA had a BET surface area of 289.15 m2/g, a total pore volume of 0.27 cm3/g, and an average pore diameter of 35.60 A. The effects of adsorbent dosage (100–400 mg), pH value (3–11), initial dye concentration (25–400 mg/L), contact time (0–26 h), and temperature (30 °C–50 °C) on the adsorption of AB 29 and MB were spectrophotometrically investigated. The kinetic and equilibrium adsorption experimental data conformed to the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir isotherm. The maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of A-OPBA 30 °C was 38.48 mg/g and 149.11 mg/g for AB 29 and MB, respectively. Results suggest that A-OPBA is an effective adsorbent for the removal of dyes from wastewater." @default.
