- W2758342007 abstract "The aim of this research is to determine the attitudes of unemployment anxiety and hopelessness perceptions among the students in the health management department of a public university. This research is a descriptive study. The population of the study consists of 200 students attending to the health management department of a public university. A total of 183 valid and usable surveys were returned between May 1 and May 15, 2017. Tuncsiper et al. (2012) has been used as a means of collecting data on the students' attitudes towards unemployment anxiety in the research. Hopelessness Scale, which was developed by Beck et al. (1974), was used in the measurement of hopelessness perceptions. When the attitudes of students towards unemployment anxiety were examined, the perceptions of pessimism were low; achievement, optimism and solution perceptions were moderate and high. Nearly half (45%) of the students stated that unemployment was not a shame, 60% said that unemployment originated in the country, and 58% said they would turn to an alternative to establishing their own business. More than 50% of the students believe that they can find jobs by improving themselves in case of unemployment. In their perceptions of hopelessness perception, 70% of the students looked to the future with hope and enthusiasm, while the vast majority (87.4%) said that they would stop struggling when there was something they could not fix.
