- W2760676567 abstract "This paper discusses the conceptual framework of educational tourism (“edutourism”) developed by synthesizing various literature and placing the concepts of cultural tourism and study abroad experience at opposite ends of a spectrum, in which edutourism exists in the middle and combines the other two concepts. From the framework, the objectives of edutourism is elaborated, as well as a set of competences to be developed in such program. Further, this paper describes and analyzes an edutourism program in Dhyana Pura University Bali aptly termed “Intrapreneurship in Another Perspective” (IAP) in terms of the edutourism conceptual framework in an intersection between cultural tourism and study abroad experience. IAP is designed as a semester-long program to expose international students to the concepts of social entrepreneurship in a unique study abroad experience with Bali as the setting for cultural enrichment. Using intrapreneurship and social entrepreneurship as its foundations, the program explores the contemporary ideas such as meta-economics, spirituality, small business management, prosperity without growth, mystery of capital, and triple bottom line — while providing real-world examples of entities in Bali closely related to the ideas being explored through planned excursions.
