• W2761134762 abstract "In image processing DWT was widely used transform technique to compress and de-noise the image. In that the filter coefficients are multiplied and accumulated with the image matrix these process need much computation resources like fixed point multipliers, RAM and computation time. In this paper Distributed Arithmetic (DA) based multiplication technique replaces the conventional multiplication process using the pre-computed bit wise multiplication values on a LUT(Look Up Table) stored in the ROM. The DA based multiplication is done only on the real values, so the fractional coefficients of DWT are converted to real values. This fixed point conversion done to both fractional value and input pixel values by scaling 2⁁r (r-resolution bits for fixed point). The accuracy of the DA based computed result over conventional multiplication vary in accordance with the resolution of fixed point number. To analyze this role of resolution on fixed point number over the DWT process, we implement the DA based multiplier technique for Daubechies2 Wavelet Transform(2D) in MATLAB. The image transformed and inverted was compared with original image. And so the metrics PSNR, MSE, SSIM were calculated for the various resolution of fixed point number. Form these metrics the best resolution for DA based DWT was found, and it could be implemented with DWT based image compressions." @default.
