- W2765794673 abstract "Abstract In this paper an attempt is made to optimize parameters such as Cutting speed, Feed, Nose radius, Axial depth of cut and Radial depth of cut of P20 steel in CNC milling using Response surface Methodology and Taguchi method using Design Expert software. This paper is focused on the analysis of optimum cutting conditions to get lower surface roughness (Ra) and Higher Material Removal Rate (MRR) using RSM method and Taguchi Methods. Experiments were designed using Taguchi L50 orthogonal array method and experiments were conducted. The results are analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The optimized results are Nose Radius=0.8 mm, Cutting speed=95m/min, Feed=0.18mm/min, Axial Depth of cut=1.5mm, Radial Depth of Cut=0.69mm produces the optimum values of surface roughness Ra= 0.615μm, and the optimum material removal rate MRR=298.5cm3/min. It is observed that the optimized values of parameters are similar in both Response surface methodology and Taguchi method. The results from this study show that RSM and taguchi method can determine the optimized values of parameters in CNC milling." @default.
