The ground heat exchanger (GHE) plays an important role to achieve a higher coefficient of performance in GSHP system. GHE technology has known very well and a significant research has been done over the last decades. The aim of this paper is to overview the previous research on various GHE parametAli Amiriers to improve the efficiency and their effect on factors such as heat exchanger type, heat exchange rate, outlet temperature, pressure loss, thermal resistance, thermal interference, thermal conductivity, soil temperature, thermo-economic and etc. According to effective parameters, this paper is divided into three parts. The first part is dedicated to inside the pipe parameters (velocity, inlet temperatures and working fluid). The pipe parameters including pipe diameter, pitch, pipe center-to-center distance, pipe arrangement and pipe material are reviewed in the second part. Outside of pipe parameters including pipe length, borehole depth and diameter, and backfill material is reviewed in third part. It is concluded that, the inlet-temperature and the circulating fluid velocity, higher center-to-center distance of the vertical pipe and pitch for the spiral pipe and, thermal conductivity of the backfill material, have the greatest impact on increasing the system performance compare to other parameters." @default.
