- W2770847004 abstract "Myanmar is endowed with a great diversity of metallic and non-metallic mineral deposits, a number of which have been developed as world-class mines in the last decades (Khin Zaw 1992, 2016; Gardiner et al. 2014, 2015a, b, 2016; Khin Zaw et al. 1999a, 2014a, b, 2017a, b). Today, Myanmar continues to have potential for the discovery of giant tin–tungsten, lead–zinc–silver and copper ± gold mineralization. Despite limited mine output due to a lack of capital funds in the recent past, several local and/or JV (Junior Venture) companies are operating lead–zinc–silver mines in Myanmar (Bawdwin, Bawsaing also known as Theingon, Yadanatheingi and Longh Keng). The Longh Keng deposit is a newly delineated zinc carbonate deposit (0.2 Mt @ 36.70% Zn, Than Htay & Than Htun 2015; Than Htun et al. 2017a). The giant Monywa copper deposit containing 7 Mt of contained copper (Mitchell et al. 2010) is currently mined by the Wanbao Mining Company (Knight 2012; Knight & Khin Zaw 2015; Yi Sun et al. 2015; Khin Zaw et al. 2017b). Sn–W deposits are also widely distributed in Myanmar (Than Htun et al. 2017a)." @default.
