EnglishDental implants have shown long-term predictable results. The greatest failure rate in implants was found among those placed in the posterior region of the maxilla. This is due to the anatomical characteristics of the region which include quality and amount of present bone. In some cases, we have to go to a combination of several techniques of bone increase to rehabilitate with implants. Next, we present a case in which a female patient wants to rehabilitate the aesthetic and function due to missing teeth (25 and 26). In order to place an implant with enough bone, two techniques of bone increase are performed: horizontal level (bone expansion) and vertical level (sinus lift). A complication takes place: the Schneiderian membrane perforation, which is solved with the suture of the membrane to the bone. Alveolar expansion and sinus lift techniques have been performed, for years, with low morbidity and excellent results when the choice of the case is appropiate, contributing to solve complex cases with great bone resorption successfully." @default.
