- W2774526893 abstract "This study is a description of types of youth deviant behaviors in Jeddah province, trying to disclose the factors causing these behaviors. These deviations are the ones that Youth practice at homes and noticed in educational institutes and in modern shopping malls. This study is based on the method of social survey, and was applied on 1600 of male Saudi youth residing permanently with their families in the area of the survey, and their ages are over 14 and under 30 years. They belong to educational institutions in the community of the study. They were chosen through multiple-sampling method. The study has been built on questionnaires and observations as two main tools to collect the field data, in addition to personal interviews as a complementary tool to these tools. The study concludes many results, the most obvious ones are: (1) More than 23 of the samples have performed over 8 from twenty deviations practiced at homes. The most practiced deviations are moral. (2) These deviations are common in education institutions as all persons under observation noticed at least a pattern of deviation, more than the half noticed 24 or more from 33 deviations in the whole. (3) More than half of the samples practiced deviation in the institutions to which they belong at lower level, meaning that the number of deviations practiced have ranged from one to eleven patterns .(4) The rate of youth practicing deviations are increasing, and the most practiced deviation is masturbation, bringing mobiles to the school or the institute, watching sex satellite channels, cheating in exams, and chatting with other sex through internet websites.(5) The results of qualitative part of the study ends to that the mania of flirting at the modern shopping malls has associations to some of other deviations; the most obvious one is entering the shopping centers with different deviant ways like paying tips to the security men or the some women in order to enter the mall, or accompanying a girl friend assuming that she is a member of his family while she is not, and practicing flirting with different ways such as Bluetooth, digital and verbal communications, and molesting girls verbally or physically during their exit. (6) The statistical analysis has declared that the disorder in some functional roles of the family and school was the main factor behind youth practicing many kinds of deviations. This disorder in family is manifested in neglecting or showing passive attitudes towards practiced deviations at homes, i.e., the disorder of both precautionary and remedial roles. Regarding to the education institutes, it becomes clear that the signs of the functional disorders are embodied in the weakness of the level of internal control, the absence or rarity of the social work, the ineffectiveness of education received by the youth in improving their behavior, and the mismatching of the educational environment with its materialistic and spiritual sides." @default.
