- W277849972 abstract "This dissertation addresses a scientific study under the theme of steam jet ejector refrigeration. This type of refrigeration presents numerous advantages when compared with other cooling systems that are commonly used today, since it almost requires no maintenance, it has wide range of working fluids that can be applied, and can be powered from low temperature heat instead of electricity. The advantages listed, make this system very interesting from the points of view of energy consumption, financial, and environmental protection, because it allows the operation of a cooling system from alternative energy sources such as reuse of wasted heat energy and renewable energy (solar or geothermal energy). Currently there is a strong research about the subject, with the purpose to increase the coefficient of performance of the system, since it is still low when compared with most of the cooling systems that are used today. The study focuses on the most critical component of the mentioned refrigeration cycle, the ejector, since it is the core of the system, whose function is to increase the pressure of the fluid from the evaporator to the condenser pressure. The compression that was mentioned is achieved through a series of complex processes of thermodynamic and mechanical fluids. Inside the ejector the flow of the working fluid is compressible and complex, whose understanding is crucial for the design of the ejector itself. Despite the existence of these complex phenomena, the ejectors are designed using simplified mathematical models, based on the theory of ideal gas flow, where efficiencies are used to account for the thermodynamic irreversibility’s that exist along the ejector. The values of those efficiencies are often chosen in an arbitrary manner. The main purpose of this dissertation is to address the true value of these efficiencies, studying the influence of different working fluids (R142b, R152a e R600a), and operating conditions (temperature on the generator and condenser), using CFD. Another objective is to make a comparison with the values obtained and the ones seen on the literature. The results show that the efficiencies of the three working fluids, display a similar behavior with the variation of the operating conditions, but exhibit different values for the same working temperatures as a consequence of having different thermodynamic proprieties. It was also concluded that for the same working fluid the variation of the temperature of the generator has influence over the value of the efficiency. In contrast, the temperature change of the condenser within the choked flow regime does not significantly alter the value of the efficiencies, with the exception of the efficiency of the diffuser, which increases as the temperature of the condenser is raised. Establishing a comparison of the results obtained with the ones raised along the literature for various fluids, it is shown that some of them are outside the range of values given by the authors. However it is noted that most of the values found are arbitrated by the authors and not calculated. Avaliacao de Rendimentos em Ejectores de Sistemas de Refrigeracao com Diferentes Fluidos" @default.
