- W2783146071 abstract "Surveillance Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR) system is used for ground surface target detection and mechanized tracking. RADAR provides real time positional information about all moving ground surface targets over any chosen zone. Surveillance RADAR operator classifies targets based on the target's characteristic that is Doppler tone. Operator can control the operation of the Radio detection and ranging using the remote Control and Display unit. Sector coverage, elevation tilt, depth of surveillance, operating modes, target designation and frequency channel selection etc., can be set by the operator. It's important to see the image of the Target in addition to the Doppler tone to classify the type of target. In this paper we propose a Thermal Imaging (TI) Camera integrated to the Surveillance RADAR to get the Target's images. The RADAR in the setup emits Radio Frequency (RF) waves which is reflected back and received by the antenna if any object is detected under the RADAR's range. The information regarding the target's movement is displayed on a Control and Display Unit. Sometimes detecting the target's movement based on its Doppler tone is not sufficient and hence it is essential to integrate a TI Camera to the Surveillance RADAR to get the target's image. TI Camera when switched ON detects the Hot Bodies and the image or video is obtained on the liquid crystal display screen of display unit. Higher an objects heat the more infrared energy is emitted as black body waves, TI camera can detect these radiations in a way same as an ordinary camera detects visible light." @default.
