- W2783239106 abstract "Treatment of the vertical dimension of the face is one of the most challenging areas in orthodontics. The vertical disparities manifests either as deep overbite or open bite and the skeletal and dentoalveolar component defining the discrepancy are subjected to a myriad of arrangement. The treatment for skeletal vertical problems in nongrowing individuals includes dentoalveolar camouflage or orthognathic surgery. The advent of temporary anchorage devices has augmented the scope of camouflage treatment. The simplicity of the clinical procedure in the placement of TADs has rendered it a popular choice for controlling the anchorage; however, the biomechanical variations associated with its use are quite difficult and challenging. The aim of this article is to emphasize the protocols and procedures involved in using TADs for controlling the vertical dimension. The state of the current evidence in terms of treatment outcome and stability is presented." @default.
