- W2787097950 abstract "Nowadays, gasoline engine vehicles are considered as one of the major contributors of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. In order to make transportation more environmentally friendly Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) have been proposed. However, with increase in number of PEVs, drawbacks associated with charging their batteries have appeared. To address these challenges, a new technology namely wireless charging system was recommended. This study is focused on analyzing two wireless techniques used for EV charging, i.e. magnetically coupled resonator and four-coil wireless power transfer system. Each method is tested within the MATLAB environment to examine how transfer distance, load, and frequency influence the efficiency of charging. The results reveal that magnetically coupled resonators system has about 92% of efficiency, when four-coil WPT reaches to 97%. Moreover, it was found that distance, frequency as well as load has to be kept constant, since any change in one of the parameters can degrade the performance of wireless charging system." @default.
