- W2792178812 abstract "This experiment was conducted to study the effects of Hoagland solution, putrescine (50 and 100 ppm), calcium nitrate solution, and coco peat: perlite medium with three ratios (v/v) (1: 1, 3: 1 and 1: 3) on some vegetative parameters and biochemical parameters of two cultivars of gladiolus (strong and white) under soilless condition in 2016. Data indicated that most criteria of vegetative parameters expressed as corm sprouting (day), number of corm and number of cormels and biochemical parameters expressed as soluble sugar (mg/g F.W), phenols (mg/100g F.W) and ascorbic acid (mg/100g F.W) significantly increased corm sprouting, number of corm and number of cormels, soluble sugar, phenols and ascorbic acid by the white cultivar (7.09 days), (1.56), (32.33), (4.87 mg/g), (28.56 mg/100g) and (8.36 mg/100g) respectively, while significantly increased by the coco peat: perlite medium with ratio (1: 3) (7.90 day), (1.59), (33.33), (4.58 mg/g), (28.91 mg/100g) and (8.13 mg/100g) respectively. In contrast, the all parameters were study that showed significantly increased by the application of Hoagland solution + putrescine 100 ppm (7.46 day), (2.18), (45.00), (6.23 mg/g), (37.01 mg/100g) and (11.71 mg/100g) respectively. As the results showed, there was a significant interaction between cultivars and media, media and treatments, cultivars and treatments and cultivars, media and treatment only in corm sprouting.
