The interaction of these moons with the solar wind or magnetospheric plasma is at first sight simple. They are obstacles to the plasma flow, leaving a wake behind. However, there are many processes occurring, from surface interactions to complex plasma physics governing the refill of the wake, generating a wealth of different current systems. Still, for all the complexity of the interactions, we find that the plasma interactions of Earth's Moon and its associated current systems are very similar to other inert moons. This is a view that has emerged lately from observations and modeling." @default.
