- W2800716239 abstract "Intellectual property (IP) is related to creations for which a monopoly is assigned to designated owners by law. The history of IP is a very old one and it begins 500 years BC. IP rights are those granted to the creators of IP, and include patents, trademarks, industrial design rights, fabrication secrets and, in some countries, trade secrets. The development of industrial goods such as food and feed additives, including enzymes is time consuming and costly. For enzymes, the development processes imply selection, genetic engineering, expression, upscale production, formulation, registration, and promotion. It is not surprising that enzyme production companies spent continuous actions to protect their inventions. In such processes the fabrication secrets are the simplest way to get protection. However, in the case of fraud by competitors there are almost no means of returning the knowledge back to the owner and this only other means of IP can be really protective. IP protection is critical to fostering innovation, protecting ideas, businesses, and individuals to reap the full benefits of their inventions. Also, without IP artists would not be fully compensated for their creations and cultural vitality. There are hundreds of excellent publications on IP and thus here we will summarize some historic facts and the main aspects of IP applied to food and feed additives, particularly enzymes." @default.
