Tarradellas conformo su ideologia, como el nacionalismo catalan en su conjunto, influenciado por el planteamiento historicista de una Peninsula iberica formada por dos coronas —a su entender Castilla y Cataluna—. Tarradellas ejercio como consejero de Gobernacion y diputado a Cortes Constituyentes y en el primer parlamento catalan durante la Segunda Republica. Vivio de cerca la aprobacion del Estatuto de autonomia de Cataluna en 1932 y la problematica que conllevo su confeccion y su despliegue. Asimismo, durante la Guerra Civil ejercio como consejero de Finanzas y jefe de sucesivos gobiernos de la Generalitat presidida por Lluis Companys. Con Tarradellas al frente del ejecutivo Cataluna supero las cotas competenciales previstas y se establecio una situacion confederal de facto en el seno de la Republica. La perdida de la Guerra Civil por parte de la Republica marco el fin del Estado que proyectaba un gobierno central y tres gobiernos autonomos, un modelo en el que el nacionalismo catalan se hubiese podido sentir comodo en gran medida. Los pactos de la Transicion para superar la dictadura franquista y a la vez para contener, mediante la Espana de las autonomias, las demandas de los llamados nacionalismos perifericos, no gusto ni a Tarradellas ni al catalanismo. Se acepto, dadas las circunstancias, pero descoloco el relato establecido de su imaginario, que prefiguraba un Estado con dos capitales en relacion bilateral. [EN]  Abstract:  Through the trajectory of the Catalan politician Josep Tarradellas, president of the Generalitat of Catalonia in exile and during the Spanish Transition, the paper traces the different phases through which, during the twentieth century, Catalanist aim to achieve bilaterality in the Barcelona-Madrid relationship in a Confederal state— in order to accommodate its political project within Spain. Tarradellas shaped his ideology, as Catalan nationalism as a whole, influenced by the historicist approach of an Iberian Peninsula made up of two crowns —in this view Castile and Catalonia—. Tarradellas exerted like consejero de Gobernacion and deputy to Cortes Constituyentes and in the first Catalan parliament during the Second Republic. He intervened in the approval of the Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia in 1932 and knew about the problems that led to its preparation and deployment. Also during the Spanish Civil War exerted like consejero de Finanzas and head of successive governments of the Generalitat presided over by Lluis Companys. With Tarradellas at the head of the executive, Catalonia exceeded the expected levels of competence and established a de facto confederation within the Republic. The loss of the Civil War by the Republic marked the end of the state that projected a central government and three autonomous governments in which Catalan nationalism could have been comfortable to a great extent. The pacts of the Transition to overcome the Franco dictatorship and at the same time to contain, through the Spain of the autonomies, the demands of the socalled peripheral nationalisms, did not like Tarradellas or Catalanism. It was accepted, given the circumstances, but the new model dislocated the established account of his imaginary that prefigured a state with two capitals in bilateral relation.
