• W2806469621 abstract "This paper presents a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) to control a five-phase permanent-magnet synchronous generator based wind turbine during wind speed variations. With the advent of the field oriented control, it is possible to make the five-phase PMSG operate like a DC machine in high performance applications. The PI Controller is preferred in many cases as a speed controller, since it offers a fixed gain and integral time constant, but the performance can be affected by parameters variation, such as wind speed changing. Also, the conventional controller makes more torque ripple. To avoid this trouble, FUZZY logic controller can be used to improve the studied control. In this simulation, there is two loops of control, the first is the outer loop named speed control loop, the second is an inner loop which is known as the current loop. The efficiency of the proposed FLC is simulated and compared to a conventional PI by using MATLAB/Simulink environment, to confirm the superiority of the Fuzzy logic, and its possibility to enhance the control performance, under parameters variation." @default.
