O objetivo neste artigo é mostrar como os dados quantitativos gerados em um corpus paralelo, composto por cinco obras, foram imprescindíveis para a condução das outras fases de investigação, uma vez que a pesquisa foi parcialmente baseada em corpus e parcialmente guiada pelo corpus. Foram investigados padrões de escolhas linguísticas no nível microestrutural com o uso desse recurso metodológico. Para tanto, a análise fundamenta-se na linha de estudo dos Estudos da Tradução Baseados em Corpus (ETBC), especificamente aqueles que têm como ênfase o estilo das traduções e dos tradutores. O estudo parte dos achados de Stubbs (2003, 2005) relacionados à investigação do próprio estilo do texto-fonte. Os dados quantitativos gerados com o WordSmith Tools© 6.0 permitiram observar padrões de escolhas lexicais em cada obra e características próprias de cada tradutor a partir do nível microestrutural, guiando a pesquisa para uma fase intermediária de investigação para que se chegasse ao nível macroestrutural, o texto.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: lista de consistência detalhada; perfil estilístico; padrões de itens lexicais; estudos da tradução baseados em corpus; estilo do tradutor.ABSTRACT: This article aims at emphasizing the use of the Detailed Consistency List, a specific tab of Word List tool of WordSmith Tools© 6.0 program (SCOTT, 2012), as a viable methodological resource in a research that aimed to investigate the stylistic profile of four literary translators of the novel Heart of Darkness (CONRAD, 1902) into Spanish language (CASTRO, 2016). The aim of this article is to show how the quantitative data generated from a parallel corpus, formed by five books, were essential for conducting the other research phases, since the research was partially based in corpus and partially guided by the corpus. Patterns of linguistic choices in the micro-structural level were investigated by using this methodological resource. Therefore, the analysis is based on the research line of Corpus-based Translation Studies (CTS), especially those studies that emphasized the style of the translations and the translators. This study is mainly based on Stubbs’ findings (2003, 2005) related to the investigation of the source text’s style. The quantitative data generated by theWordSmith Tools© 6.0 program made it possible to observe patterns of lexical choices in each translation as well as individual traits of each translator, even in the micro-structural level.
