- W2826497543 abstract "This chapter discusses the important features of flexible-organic solar cells (OSCs) as well as their working principles that include device structure, active layers, electrodes, interfaces, tandem structure, and fabrication. A conventional OSC device is usually fabricated by subsequently depositing a hole transporting layer (HTL), an active layer, an electron transporting layer (ETL), and a metal layer on tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) or fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) electrodes covered glass substrate. The chapter shows that the high work function interface for hole collection and low work function interface for electron collection are needed to achieve high-performance OSCs. Building tandem solar cells is an effective way to increase power conversion efficiency (PCE) of OSCs because a broader spectrum of solar radiation can be harvested by stacked junctions. Compared to traditional crystalline silicon solar cells, the most attractive advantage of organic thin-film solar cells is easy processing, as they can be processed from solution at low temperature." @default.
