- W2861131983 abstract "As individual and contextual factors impact ethics in organizations, this study sought to examine these aspects in conjunction through an interactionist view of ethics. More specifically, given the proximal nature of team members and strong peer influence process, this study explored how individuals comparatively evaluate their ethical behaviors and team members’ ethical behaviors to arrive at a perceived ethical person-group (P-G) fit. Using a polynomial regression framework with surface response surface analysis, we examined how the congruence between an individual’s and team’s ethical levels influence perceived ethical P-G fit and subsequently, ethical satisfaction and emotional well-being. Longitudinal student team data support the hypotheses that this congruence from both subjective and objective fit perspectives influenced perceived ethical fit and ultimately outcomes. Overall, the study provides a more comprehensive picture of how team members’ ethics influence individual’s ethical P-G fit perception and related outcomes. By exploring individual and team level ethics concurrently, we contribute to a deeper understanding of contextual forces in ethics through an understanding of various forms of fit." @default.
