With this experimental setup, kinetic investigations ofalkali sorption are possible in a conventional thermobalance. Experiments wereperformed with sodium chloride as the alkali source and kaolin as the getter material.The reaction rate increased with alkali concentration and showed an exponentialdependence on temperature.
