Al analizar las clases grabadas en video de trece aulas diferentes de tercero de primaria donde se implementaba una intervencion algebraica temprana, identificamos las actividades relacionadas con la generalizacion y las actividades de generalizacion de los estudiantes y exploramos la naturaleza de las relaciones entre estas actividades. Concretamente, detecto las actividades que potencialmente motivan la generalizacion, ademas de la generalizacion en si que hacen los estudiantes, y describo las maneras en que interactuan estas actividades. Los hallazgos tienen implicaciones practicas y teoricas; primer, ofrecen conocimientos nuevos acerca del diseno de la ensenanza para promover la generalizacion y, segundo, contribuyen al debate actual sobre el aprendizaje de las matematicas por parte de los estudiantes. EnglishThis study aims to understand the instructional interactions that foster students’ generalizing. By analysing video-recorded lessons from 13 different Grade 3 classrooms in which an early algebra intervention was implemented, activities related to generalizing and students’ generalizing activities were identified, and the nature of the relationships between these activities were explored. Namely, I consider the activities that potentially encourage students’ generalizing and the generalizing that students themselves do, and describe ways in which these activities interact. The findings have both practical and theoretical implications; in the former case, they provide insight into the design of instruction to foster generalizing, and in the latter case, they contribute to an ongoing conversation about students’ mathematics learning." @default.
