- W2889368555 abstract "Abstract Over the past decade, electronic health or “eHealth” technologies have been gathering momentum; particularly within the area of mental health. This chapter will describe innovative new developments in mobile health (“mHealth”) and give specific examples of different technologies that are currently available. This will include how smartphones can be used for health purposes, Internet-delivered education and interventions, the use of smartphone apps for mental and physical health care, and how wearable devices and activity trackers provide novel opportunities for health research. It will explain how mHealth interventions may be particularly useful to help people with serious mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. Additionally, the growing use of mHealth approaches for increasing physical activity will be discussed, with reference to novel research recently published in this area." @default.
