- W2890203462 abstract "Affective domain has not been considered in teaching and assessment in Korean schools, due to the lack of teachers’ awareness of it and not being reflected in university admissions. However, it affects the cognitive learning in the classroom and the affective domain developed as a result of learning play an important role in social life. Therefore, affective domain has a significant meaning as an educational goal and means. Previous research studies have been done at cross-subjects curriculum level, but in order to apply affective domain in individual subject teaching and assessment, studies on subject-related affective domain should be done first. Hence, a delphi study was carried out to select affective characteristics for learning geography, in which 10 senior teachers and 11 teachers with a doctorate degree in geography participated. As the result of the study, 8 affective characteristics in geography were chosen； ‘sensibility of place’, ‘sensitivity to natural environment’, ‘empathy for the global village’, ‘reflection on space and life’, ‘love for the homeland’, ‘curiosity and inquiring minds for the unknown place’, ‘interests and expectations of globalization’ and ‘the willingness of protecting and recreating hometown.’ Based on these findings, this study suggests further studies be done so that affective domain can be consistently applied in geography teaching in school ； one on raising teachers and students’ awareness of affective characteristics in geography, and another on developing measurement tools for affective characteristics." @default.
