- W2890734166 abstract "The purpose was to explore whether the six-weeks of growth hormone adjuvant can promote the live birth rate of poor ovarian responders (PORs). a self-control retrospective study. This self-control retrospective study was performed among PORs diagnosed by Bologna criteria[1] who had a growth hormone adjuvant cycle (GH+ cycle) and a non-adjuvant cycle (GH- cycle) from October 2010 to April 2016. Both paired cycles were conducted with conventional control ovarian hyperstimulation protocol for IVF treatment. Growth hormone was injected daily initialed from the previous menstruation and maintained until ovum pickup for around 6 weeks. Cycles were excluded in patients with abnormal uterine cavity, untreated hydrosalpinx, abnormal karyotyping and partner with azoospermia. Clinical characteristics and cycle outcomes were compared. Among which, patients underwent fresh embryo transfer in both paired cycles were further analyzed for the effect of live birth rate after GH adjuvant. Fixed effects in mixed linear model was applied to adjust confounding factors. A total of 380 PORs were enrolled in this self-control study. Though patients in GH+ cycles are at elder age, there was a significantly increase in the number of 2PN (2.06±1.95 vs 1.83±1.63), transferable embryo (1.68±1.74 vs 1.35±1.34) and good quality embryo (1.14±1.50 vs 0.11±0.48), (P<0.05). Fixed effects in mixed linear model revealed that after adjustment for potential confounders (cycle number, age, FSH, AMH, oocyte number), the application of GH was significantly associated with the promotion in the number of good quality embryos (P<0.001). Among which, 51 pairs of both fresh embryo transferred cycles were included to analyses effect of live birth rate. Growth hormone pretreatment significantly promoted live birth rate (23.53% vs 3.92%, P<0.05), accompanied with significantly decreased miscarriage rate (18.75% vs 80%, P<0.05). The six-weeks pretreatment with low dose GH could be beneficial for the utilization of oocytes and finally promoted live birth rate in PORs." @default.
