- W2890772339 abstract "Abstract Electrical impedance measurements quantify the resistance of a material to an injected electrical stimulus and have been used to detect physiological changes in biological tissues. These measures, often referred to as bioimpedance, are an attractive avenue for monitoring because they are noninvasive and present no high-energy radiation risks to participants. One method to represent and compare electrical impedance measurements uses fractional-order equivalent electrical circuits to represent measured datasets. These models result from the import of concepts from fractional calculus into electrical circuit theory. This chapter serves to present and discuss common fractional-order equivalent circuit models, their applications, and methods to collect and analyze results using these models. As an example, measurements from a human forearm in both relaxed and tensed states are analyzed using a fractional-order model to illustrate these techniques." @default.
