- W2890939502 abstract "Despite the advances in modern pharmacology, the effectiveness of most drugs at treatment of mucosal diseases of the oral cavity remains insufficient. The development of new complex drugs, which can affect the pathogenetic links of inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, are relevant these days. In our opinion, the combination of a dry extract of aloe and a thick extract of oak bark in one dosage form is promising for the creation of a new medicinal product for the treatment of destructively inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity.Aim. Study the effect of a new gel on the morphological state of the mucous membrane of the lower lip and gums of rats under conditions of experimental stomatitis.Materials and methods. The study of the effectiveness of the new gel was carried out on the model of experimental stomatitis. Experimental stomatitis in rats was modeled according to the standard method of one-time 5-second application of cotton swab with 10% sodium hydroxide solution on the vestibule between the cutters of the mandible and lower lip. The study was conducted on male rats with weigh of 180-220 g.Results. Animals of the intact control group had a normal state of the surface of the lower lip and gums. Animals of the control group, on the background of an experimental stomatitis, were observed significant destructive effects of the cells of the inner surface of the lower lip and gums. In the mucous lower lip, the surface layers of the defect are fairly dense necrotic masses, the bottom is a granulation tissue that replaces its own plate of the mucous membrane, submucosal membrane and subordinate muscle fibers. Application of the Metrogil-Denta gel contributed to the partial restoration of the studied parameters. In the mucous membrane of the lower lip in the place of the previous ulcers, a soft scar is visible, covered with a multilayered epithelium. Unlike control pathology, 83.3% of rats treated with a new gel, in the mucous membrane of the lower lip ulcerous lesions are completely healed. The former defect fills a rather mature loose fibrous fabric, the surface is completely epithelized. There are also no noticeable destructive-inflammatory changes in the gums mucous membrane of these rats, only hypertrophy of the epithelium is observed. Some of the rats had accelerated process of healing defects, to the time of observation there was a replacement of their mild scar and complete epithelization of the surface, while in others - on the day of the experiment almost completely restored the structural and functional status of the mucous membrane.Conclusions. It was established that treatment with a new gel prevents the development of destructive-inflammatory changes in the mucous membrane of the lower lip and gums at 83.3% of rats, some of the rats had accelerated the process of healing defects to the time of observation, there was full epithelization of the surface. The curative effect of a new gel exceeds the Metrogyl-Denta comparison drug." @default.
