By treating each receiver individually, Geometricmean Reverse Time Migration (GmRTM) computes crosscorrelation between each extrapolated wavefield as an imaging condition and enhance spatial resolution of source locations. For this migration, and also other locating techniques, we need an accurate velocity model, which is a challenge for us to estimate. Because GmRTM contains wavefield crosscorrelation, I can also compute the extended imaging condition (EIC) for passive seismic data. As for active-source data, EIC is useful to find the signature of velocity errors and validate the quality of the velocity model. Computing EIC of GmRTM for different pairs of receivers, I can also estimate the spatial variation of velocity errors. This imaging condition is potentially useful to update the velocity model and obtain passive-source information more accurately.Presentation Date: Tuesday, October 16, 2018Start Time: 8:30:00 AMLocation: 208A (Anaheim Convention Center)Presentation Type: OralKeywords: passive imaging, imaging, correlation, microseismicPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2018-2998514.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byCrosscorrelation migration of microseismic source locations with hybrid imaging conditionShaojiang Wu, Yibo Wang, Fei Xie, and Xu Chang1 December 2021 | GEOPHYSICS, Vol. 87, No. 1Ambient Noise Surface Wave Reverse Time Migration for Fault Imaging22 December 2020 | Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Vol. 125, No. 12Velocity sensitivity of the multiplication imaging condition for locating passive seismic sourcesWeiping Cao, Xiaochun Chen, Xuri Huang, Yezheng Hu, Yungui Xu, and Jing Tang13 November 2020Locating passive sources on seismic reflection image in the presence of velocity errorsYujin Liu, Yue Ma, Song Han, and Yi Luo25 September 2020 | GEOPHYSICS, Vol. 85, No. 5Source location with cross-coherence migrationYujin Liu, Yue Ma, and Yi Luo14 May 2020 | GEOPHYSICS, Vol. 85, No. 4Antinoise performance of time-reverse imaging conditions for microseismic locationJianlong Yuan, Jiashun Yu, Xiaobo Fu, and Chao Han14 April 2020 | GEOPHYSICS, Vol. 85, No. 3Microseismic imaging of real passive data with GmRTMYuwei Wang, Nori Nakata, Yusuke Kumano, and Hidehiko Shimizu10 August 2019 SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2018ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2018 Pages: 5520 publication data© 2018 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 27 Aug 2018 CITATION INFORMATION Nori Nakata, (2018), Extended imaging conditions for passive seismic data with GmRTM, SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 2957-2961. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2018-2998514.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordspassive imagingimagingcorrelationmicroseismicPDF DownloadLoading ..." @default.
