The microbial cell-mediated nanomaterial formation has emerged as an auspicious tactic for NPs synthesis. Microbial drug resistance is the outcome of rampant and inappropriate use of antibiotics along with frequent interchanging different antimicrobial treatments. Inorganic NPs offer an attractive option due to their multiprong antimicrobial action along with added advantage of heat resistance and chemical stability. Antimicrobial action of NPs is significantly influenced by its physicochemical properties such as size, shape, charge, crystal structure, and surface morphology. Biofilm formation plays a vital role in bacterial resistance toward foreign therapeutics. Among several metallic NPs, nanosilver has proven most efficient against various eukaryotic microorganisms. NP composite exhibited excellent antimicrobial action against many microbes." @default.
