Basedon the international literature and secondary information, I investigated how digital solutions integrate the onlineand offline channels, roles of the retailer and the consumers, and the boundaries between merchandise andservices. The digital devices used by the retailers and consumers are able to connect to each other that createsnew and broader retail environment exceeding the boundaries of the online and offline channels of the retailer.The self-service and virtual technologies provide various opportunities for involving the customer into the retailactivities and reshaping the tasks of the store staff. Finally, the product-centric focus is shifting toward serviceorientedretail activity that emphasizes problem solution and support based on online, virtual and augmentedtechnology." @default.
